About Us

Medical Negligence was founded by Geoffrey Hall, one of Britain’s most experienced law reporters. Called to the Bar by Middle Temple in1963, Geoffrey began a career in legal publishing when he was appointed Editor of Lloyd’s Law Reports, the leading shipping and commercial series. He left Lloyd’s in 1980 to start his own successful publishing business in Fleet Street.

In 1988 growing medical negligence litigation demonstrated the need for a series of law reports to cover this field. Geoffrey launched, and edited for ten years, Medical Law Reports, the first verbatim medico-legal series. It was realised, however, that the issues raised by the enormous growth in claims by injured patients and relatives could no longer be satisfactorily covered by orthodox hardcopy publishing. In the belief that the answer lay in the internet he launched the website at www.medneg.com in 1998.
